Terms and Conditions

Cancellations:
Wedding/Special Occasion/Event makeup: Cancellations made by clients must be made at least 10 working days before the wedding date. Please note that deposits are non-returnable.

In the unlikely event that Powder & Paint has to cancel an appointment for any reason, then every effort will be made to re-schedule (where possible). If a re-schedule is not possible (for example, wedding makeup) then all monies paid in advance (less trial fee(s), if applicable) will be refunded in full and contact details given for an alternative makeup artist.

Client records:
Records are kept by Powder & Paint for every client that has a makeup application or other treatment, as reference for future appointments and for Health & Safety purposes. These records are stored securely and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. All information held will be treated as confidential and will not be divulged to a third party.

Complaints:
Any complaints made against Powder & Paint should be given in writing by email to info@powderandpaint.co.uk

Deposits:
A non-refundable deposit of £20 is payable in advance in order to secure the services of a Powder & Paint makeup artist. Wedding/event dates cannot be held open without a deposit. This deposit will be deducted from the final wedding/event price.

Insurance:
Powder & Paint is fully insured by the British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC) and holds £2 million public liability insurance to protect both its clients and staff.

Length of appointments:
Guidance as to the length of appointments can be found on the Powder & Paint website or from the makeup artist, but appointment lengths may vary according to the treatment being provided and the client’s needs.

Minimum numbers:
Please note that Powder & Paint will only take bookings for a Bride plus 1 other (such as Mother of the Bride/Groom or adult Bridesmaid) for weddings taking place 1 May to 30 September, inclusive.

No-selling policy:
The makeup artist may make suggestions and recommendations during the treatment or patch test appointments about products in their role as a makeup artist and for the benefit of the client. It is Powder & Paint’s policy that it does not try to sell makeup and beauty products to clients. If a client is interested in a product which has been used on them, the makeup artist can provide them with information on how to purchase the item, or purchase the product on their behalf.

Parental consent:
Powder & Paint does not conduct any treatment on persons under the age of 14 years old and requires parental consent for any treatment being carried out on a person who is under the age of 18.

Payment:
Payment for makeup services must be by cash, personal cheque or bank transfer (by arrangement) and can be made in advance or on the day of the makeup trial. 50% of the total for makeup services on wedding/event date is required at the trial to secure the client’s wedding/event date, or within 14 days. The remaining balance will be due 7 days prior to wedding/event date.

Products used:
Powder & Paint uses only premium, high-quality skincare and cosmetics. Powder & Paint believes that the best available in the marketplace are from brands such as Chanel, MAC, Dior, Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, NARS, and skincare by Dermalogica. Cosmetics and products from these brands (each one carefully selected by a Powder & Paint makeup artist to go in the Powder & Paint professional makeup kit) are designed to look good to the eye and, crucially, to the camera as well - fairly important when you get your wedding album back! These products are also chosen to ensure that your makeup lasts all day and into the night.

Setup times:
The Powder & Paint makeup artist will arrive at the client’s home or wedding/event venue at the pre-agreed time, allowing sufficient time to set-up and apply makeup to client(s).

Travelling area and charges:
Powder & Paint will travel to a client’s home or wedding/event venue in South Gloucestershire, Bristol and the surrounding areas, within a maximum 20 mile radius from the Powder & Paint office at BS34 8GD. All costs associated with travel are included in the cost of services provided. Powder & Paint will consider travelling any distance dependent upon the size of the wedding, and of course, Powder & Paint’s other commitments. Longer distances sometimes involve an extra charge (quote available upon request).

Any additional charges, such as parking and/or bridge toll, will be invoiced to the client, and applies to both trial and wedding/event dates.
